Virginia Woolf in Richmond – a talk and book signing with Peter Fullagar
16/11/2022 – 16:00-17:00 – £5 Admission
To accompany and celebrate the unveiling of the first ever bronze life-y size public statue of literary icon, Virginia Woolf, in England, Peter Fullagar will give a talk about her life with husband Leonard in Richmond and the creation of the Hogarth Press.
Although there is a public misconception that Virginia disliked the town, the writer’s diaries and letters show that this was not the case.
Richmond’s relaxed way of life helped the writer to regain her health and owning her own printing press enabled her to experiment as a writer.
The town’s influence on Virginia’s writing is in evidence in much of her work including Mrs Dalloway and Orlando.
